The Crimson set out to establish itself as more than just a bar — it needed to become an experience. The challenge was to create a brand identity that captured the essence of jazz: rich, expressive, and timeless, while still appealing to a modern audience. The visual language had to balance mood and clarity — something that felt immersive and atmospheric without becoming overwhelming or indistinct. At the same time, the brand needed to translate seamlessly into social media, where consistency and recognizability are key in a fast-scrolling environment.

Our approach began with understanding the culture surrounding jazz — its history, its emotional depth, and its visual associations. We explored how jazz venues communicate mood through lighting, typography, and spatial identity, drawing inspiration from classic speakeasies, vinyl-era aesthetics, and contemporary lounge culture.
We also studied audience behavior in nightlife and hospitality spaces, focusing on what drives engagement both physically and digitally. This helped us define a direction that was not only visually distinct, but also aligned with how people discover and connect with such spaces today.
